In order to evaluate the response of plantin growing (clone Horn Pink AAB), the application of organic fertilizer Bocashi set with supplemental doses of mineral fertilizer in three planting densities, an experiment was conducted in the field in the community of Silence, district of Changuinola, province of Bocas del Toro, Panama, between 2011 and 2012. The design was randomized block in factorial arrangement and four replications. The factors under study were three planting densities and seven combinations of nutrition (soil, Bocashi and/or mineral fertilization), for a total of 21 treatments. The variables studied were found normal data and homogeneity of variance. Afterwards, a two-factor ANOVA, in which the factors under study were compared and their interactions was performed. Means were compared by multiple range test Duncan (P<0,05). The results show that the addition of Bocashi can reduce the dose of mineral nitrogen fertilizer by 50%, unaffected yields in the soil and climate where the study was conducted. The planting density of 2500 plants.ha-1 allowed increase yields by 42%, compared to the density of 1811 plants.ha-1 used by producers. The economic feasibility of the results is demonstrated from an appropriate mix of compost and mineral fertilizer as well as higher density planting.
